On November 26, 2021, the Malaysian authority SIRIM QAS International issued a notice that currently, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is reviewing the possible use of the 6GHz frequency band for Wi-Fi. Therefore, the certification of 6GHz Wi-Fi is banned and effective immediately.
Applicants for type certification must ensure that the 6GHz frequency on the equipment that supports this frequency is disabled before applying. This will be verified by the SIRIM RF&EMCT laboratory.
However, under the "Speical Approval" (including SA & CL applied by companies and individuals) program, certification and import of equipment operating in the 6GHz frequency band are temporarily prohibited until further notice.
